Marbaugh's National Cancer Registrars Week Article Published in Advance for Health Information Professionals

Kirstine Marbaugh's article, "Celebrate National Cancer Registrars Week April 11-15," was published by Advance for Health Information Professionals on March 14, 2011.

Marbaugh, a Certified Tumor Registrar and Registered Health Information Administrator, is a manager for CHAMPS Oncology, and serves as a CHAMPS consultant for several Commission on Cancer (CoC) accredited programs. Marbaugh also serves as the chair of the National Cancer Registrars Week (NCRW) committee for the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA).

Since graduating from The Ohio State University with a degree in health information management, Marbaugh's ambition and talents have been recognized and empowered by CHAMPS Oncology, the leader in cancer compliance for the cancer registry. As a result of Marbaugh's knowledge, expertise and guidance, several of her clients received the CoC Outstanding Achievement Award.

CHAMPS Oncology is proud of Marbaugh's role as a cancer registry professional and encouraged her to promote and celebrate the profession by contributing an article on National Cancer Registrars Week to Advance for Health Information Professionals online magazine.

This year's theme for NCRW was Cancer Registrars Pave the Way to a Cure, and as Marbaugh explains in her article: "[This theme] demonstrates that cancer registry professionals are a vital source on the road to cancer control and a cure. Cancer registry professionals pave that road with their skill and commitment to collecting and processing quality cancer data."
