CHAMPS Oncology Celebrates 19th Annual National Cancer Registrars Week

19th Annual National Cancer Registrars WeekCHAMPS Oncology will be observing the 19th annual National Cancer Registrars Week (NCRW) April 6-10, 2015. This celebration of the cancer registry profession was founded by the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA). With more than 35 years in the cancer registry profession, CHAMPS Oncology is honored to join NCRA in celebrating cancer registrars and their commitment to quality cancer data management.

This year’s NCRW theme, "The Lighthouse in a Storm of Change,” acknowledges how cancer registrars have stayed the course through a myriad of changes. The way cancer is diagnosed and the treatment protocols are evolving every day. Keeping up-to-date with these advancements is a challenge cancer registrars embrace.

CHAMPS Oncology recognizes the critical work being done by its staff, and all cancer registrars nationwide and is joining in the week of festivities by:

  • Sending out personal thank you notes with a Target gift card and chocolates to their dedicated staff.
  • Posting fun facts and articles on their Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest accounts.
  • Displaying the image on their lobby monitor and hanging posters throughout the office.

“Cancer registrars are dedicated to obtaining complete, timely and quality cancer information. Together with colleagues, clients and most of all the cancer patients, cancer registrars are the “lighthouse” that will provide the critical data needed to find a cure,” said Toni Hare, RHIT, CTR, Commission on Cancer-trained consultant and vice president of CHAMPS Oncology.

Check out NCRA’s website for a list of celebration suggestions for its 19th Annual National Cancer Registrars Week.
