CHAMPS Oncology Clients Receive Commission on Cancer Outstanding Achievement Award

CHAMPS Oncology Clients Receive Commission on Cancer Outstanding Achievement Award CHAMPS Oncology proudly recognizes three of their Commission on Cancer (CoC)-accredited cancer programs, Akron General Medical Center, Aultman Hospital and Fairview/Lakewood Hospital Integrated Network Cancer Program, for receiving the 2014 Commission on Cancer Outstanding Achievement Award.

Akron General, Aultman and Fairview/Lakewood Hospitals were three out of the 75 programs nationally recognized based on their cancer program surveys performance during 2014.

“All of us at CHAMPS Oncology are extremely proud of these three clients as well as our team of certified tumor registrars for their ongoing support, commitment and expertise,” said Toni Hare, RHIT, CTR, Commission on Cancer-trained consultant and vice president of CHAMPS Oncology.

The Commission on Cancer Outstanding Achievement Award is designed to recognize cancer programs that strive for excellence in demonstrating compliance with the CoC standards and are committed to ensuring high quality cancer care. A CoC-accredited cancer program is eligible to earn the Outstanding Achievement Award after completing the accreditation survey and receiving a Performance Report that indicates an accreditation award of “Three-Year with Commendation.” Specifically, the program must receive commendation ratings for the seven commendation level standards and no deficiencies for the remaining 27 standards.
