What is a Cancer Registrar?

So exactly what is a cancer registrar and what do they do? The National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA) defines a cancer registrar as, a data information specialist that captures a complete history, diagnosis, treatment, and health status for every cancer patient in the U.S.

Unfortunately, cancer registrars across the nation are quickly reaching retirement age without a sufficient stream of new registrars to take their place. In response, CHAMPS created a brief video entitled, What is a Cancer Registrar, to explain the profession and the impact cancer registrars make, in the hopes that it will encourage others to consider the career path.
