The Center's 100 Days of Service Initiative

The Center's 100 Days of Service InitiativeIn 2015, employees at The Center for Health Affairs and CHAMPS Healthcare participated in a 100 Days of Service initiative, during which the organization achieved a total of 110 service days. The initiative was so successful that it will be continued in 2016.

Giving Back to Say Thank You

Launched in April 2015, The Center's 100 Days of Service initiative encourages each of the organization’s 128 staff members to participate in at least one day of community service in honor of the organization's centennial, with a goal of achieving at least 100 total days of service as an organization. The service days are considered a means of giving back and saying thank you to the communities which have supported the endeavors of The Center and CHAMPS for so long.

Volunteering as an Organization

In 2015, The Center and CHAMPS coordinated several corporate-sponsored volunteer opportunities in conjunction with community organizations or initiatives, including the Cleveland Habitat for Humanity Restore, Green Corps Community Garden, American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk and the Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland.

In addition to corporate-sponsored volunteer opportunities, employees were also encouraged to volunteer at organizations of their choice - including dozens of organizations both in Northeast Ohio and in the many communities across the country where the organization's remote employees live. 2015 volunteer organizations included:

  • American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk
  • American Heart Association’s 2015 Heart Walk
  • Chaplain Partnership
  • Christian Chester Church
  • Cleveland Habitat for Humanity Restore
  • Cleveland Rape Crisis Center
  • General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC)
  • Green Corps Community Garden
  • Hope Over Heroin
  • Horace Mann Elementary School
  • Lakewood Hospital Foundation
  • Norwalk Alliance Church
  • Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland
  • Salvation Army
  • St. Louis Pulmonary Hypertension Association
  • YMCA of Greater Cleveland

The organization's 2016 service activities are heating up again. Check back soon for a new list of volunteer experiences.
