Bob Kaliszewski Project Manager, Finance and Reimbursement

Bob Kaliszewski is a project manager in Member Services for The Center for Health Affairs. In this role, he is responsible for providing expertise on Medicare in Ohio and Ohio Medicaid rules and regulations as well as related payments for hospital services. Kaliszewski has a long history with The Center, beginning in 1980 when he was appointed chairman of the Greater Cleveland Healthcare Association (GCHA) Reimbursement Committee. In 2000, he became a member of The Center’s Reimbursement Forum and served two terms as chairman.

With nearly 50 years of healthcare financing experience, he brings extensive knowledge to The Center and its member hospitals. Kaliszewski has been involved with Medicare and Medicaid hospital reports since their inception, audited the first filed cost reports and witnessed many changes in the industry over the years. Additionally, he has dealt with the Medicare program as an auditor, in the hospital setting as a reimbursement director and independently as a consultant.

Kaliszewski earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Dyke College and his Masters of Business Administration from Baldwin-Wallace University. He has been a member of the Cigna Government Services Provider Outreach and Education (POE) Committee since 2016. Kaliszewski is also a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and a recipient of HFMA’s Follmer Bronze and Reeves Silver awards. In the past, he has served as chairman of the local Chapter Public Relations Committee, chairman of the local Chapter Newsletter Committee and a member of the local Chapter Program Committee.

He has served on various Medicare, Medicaid and hospital committees on a national, state, and local level, including the national Medicare Technical Advisory Group, Ohio Hospital Association (OHA) Finance Committee, OHA Reimbursement Subcommittee, State of Ohio Medicaid Inpatient DRG Development Work Group, State of Ohio Medicaid Outpatient Development Work Group and the OHA Workman’s Compensation Subcommittee. Kaliszewski has made presentations to a variety of audiences regarding Medicare and hospital pricing.
