Tara Vargovich

Tara Vargovich is the program manager for Emergency Preparedness for The Center for Health Affairs. In this role, she is responsible for managing activities under a federal grant from the Assistant Secretary of Preparedness and Response to enhance regional disaster preparedness efforts of the Northeast Ohio healthcare community.
Additional responsibilities in Vargovich’s role include analyzing the region’s healthcare needs by working with the hospitals and Healthcare Coalition partners to determine goals and objectives along the state and federal guidelines.
After receiving dual bachelor’s degrees in 2005 from Cleveland State University in communications and sociology, she returned to CSU in 2011 to complete her master's degree in adult learning. In the following years, Vargovich has amassed an impressive resume featuring a decade of experience in emergency management. She served as a safety officer for a 500-bed hospital where she managed the facility’s hospital command center and worked in various emergency management settings for the Cuyahoga County, Geauga County and Cleveland Clinic.
Experienced in collaborating with area hospitals to empower the healthcare community, Vargovich brings extensive expertise in strengthening relationships with key leadership to better improve safety, regulatory compliance and security programs.
