Nursing Leaders and Supporting Partners Recognized in Northeast Ohio



On the evening of April 28, 2011, The Center for Health Affairs workforce initiative, NEONI, celebrated nursing excellence by recognizing nursing leaders and supporting partners throughout Northeast Ohio, at Sammy's Manakiki Ballroom, in Willoughby Hills.

Three recipients were honored with awards for devoting their professional careers to advancing the nursing profession in Northeast Ohio.

  • Jane Fusilero, RN, MSN, MBA, CNAA, Vice President/CNO, Moffitt Cancer Center, received the Partner in Nursing Award, for her significant contribution to the profession of nursing.
  • Donna J. Blair, MSN, RN-BC, CNP, Education Coordinator, Akron Children’s Hospital, received the NEONI Legacy Award, for supporting and impacting an individual/organization in the following areas of nursing, including education, retention, environment, increasing the future recruitment of nurses, and the services given to patients.
  • Robert A. Schloss, RN, BSN, MS, Consultant, received NEONI’s Lifetime Achievement Award for his strong commitment to nursing throughout his career and service to others, making a significant contribution to the overall advancement of the profession of nursing.
