Back to all News ReleasesOctober 05, 2011 (Cleveland)Ohio’s Action Coalition Recognized by The Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action
The Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action, a coordinated effort to ensure that all Americans have access to high-quality healthcare, with nurses contributing to the full extent of their capabilities, named 21 new state Action Coalitions on September 26. Among those selected is Ohio’s Action Coalition, a group co-led by the Ohio Hospital Association and the Ohio League for Nursing with input from The Center for Health Affairs workforce initiative, NEONI.
Ohio’s Action Coalition, along with the other 20 new and 15 current Action Coalitions across the country, will now work with the campaign to articulate our state’s goals relative to the recommendations of the 2010 landmark Institute of Medicine report, The Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Health. The campaign seeks active participation from states, national organizations and individuals from healthcare, business, education, government and philanthropic sectors to ensure that the recommendations are translated into actions that result in improved patient-centered care.
Ohio’s Action Coalition is being implemented via the Ohio Network for Nursing Workforce, a collaborative membership of many nursing organizations across the state, of which NEONI is an active partner.
