Northeast Ohioans Take Advantage of The Center’s Partnership with Ohio’s Healthcare Credit Union

Partnership with Ohio Healthcare Credit UnionThe Center for Health Affairs is pleased to report that in the three months since their Ohio HealthCare Federal Credit Union Collaborative was announced, the Columbus-based credit union has added 27 members from Northeast Ohio to its approximately 8,200 members, 24 auto loans totaling more than $420,000 and more than 10 credit card accounts, according to an update on The Center’s partnership with Ohio’s healthcare credit union reported by Crain’s Cleveland Business.

The partnership with Ohio’s healthcare credit union and The Center for Health Affairs developed as a result of shared branching taking off among credit unions and the increase in the use of online banking. This includes 58 Northeast Ohio Shared Branch locations and more than 4,500 branches nationwide. It also includes over 140 surcharge-free ATMs in Northeast Ohio and more than 30,000 ATMs nationwide, a wide variety of online services, and a 24/7 call center.

Without a geographic region dictating Ohio HealthCare's charter, Northeast Ohioans who are healthcare employees, volunteers, their spouses and family members are able to take advantage of the credit union’s vast array of financial services. To get started, healthcare employees can open an account online at www.webcuNEO.com with only five dollars and remain a member for life, even through a professional change, retirement or relocation out of state.

Hospital leaders and other key stakeholders were recently mailed a brochure outlining The Center’s partnership with Ohio’s healthcare credit union along with the most recent issue brief. For additional information on the partnership contact Deanna Moore at 216.255.3614 or deanna.moore@chanet.org.
