On the evening of April 25, The Center for Health Affairs and its workforce initiative, NEONI, will celebrate nursing excellence and recognize Northeast Ohio nursing leaders and supporting partners, at Executive Caterers at Landerhaven, in Mayfield Heights.
The five following recipients will be honored with awards for devoting their professional careers to advancing the nursing profession in Northeast Ohio.
- Dr. Roy A. Church, BS, M.Ed, Ed.D, president, Lorain County Community College, will receive the Community Leader Award, which honors an individual or group of individuals representing Northeast Ohio through corporate or community involvement who, through their contribution and support, have impacted the nursing profession in education, recruitment service, environment and retention of nursing.
- Michelle M. Wilson, MS, CNP, APRN-BC, CPNP-AC, pre-surgery nurse practitioner, Akron Children's Hospital, will receive the Partner in Nursing Award, which honors an individual, family or organization that has made a significant contribution to the profession of nursing.
- Judith Beeler, MSN, RN-BC, staff development coordinator, University Hospitals Case Medical Center and Aris Beoglos Eliades, PhD, RN, CNS, associate director, Rebecca D. Considine Research Institute and director of nursing research, Akron Children's Hospital, will receive the NEONI Legacy Award, which honors the outstanding support or impact of an individual or organization in at least one of the following areas of nursing: education, retention, environment, increasing the future recruitment of nurses and the services given to patients.
- Sue Collier, MSN, BA, RN, NEA-BC, chief nursing officer and vice president, Hillcrest Hospital, will receive NEONI's Lifetime Achievement Award, which honors an individual selected by their peers whose strong commitment to nursing throughout their career and service to others has made a significant contribution to the overall advancement of the profession of nursing.
