Louisiana State Board Signs Contract with NEONI to Predict Nursing Supply and Demand

NEONI Nursing Supply and Demand ForecasterOn Thursday, Jan. 17 NEONI landed its first contract with the Louisiana State Board of Nursing. NEONI will utilize its Nursing Forecaster, a dynamic tool used to predict the future nursing supply and demand for Licensed Practical Nurses, Registered Nurses and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses in eight economic regions throughout Louisiana.

In Nov. 2012, Lisa Anderson, vice president, member services, along with consultants Pat Cirillo and Craig Moore, presented NEONI’s Nursing Forecaster to 22 representatives from the state hospital association, the long-term care state association, state government agencies, academic institutions and other professional nursing organizations affiliated with the Louisiana Center for Nursing.

“We explained our nursing supply and demand tool to Louisiana stakeholders so they could understand how it works, the type of information it provides and how that information can be used to influence public policy, anticipate regulatory changes and strategic planning for the state, academic institutions and healthcare providers,” Anderson said.

This project will provide strategic planning data about the Louisiana workforce through 2020. It is scheduled to be complete in seven months.

“Over the past year, we have spoken many times about our nursing supply and demand tool, both nationally and with interested potential clients,” Anderson said. “We look forward to the next opportunity.”
