Over the course of the past month, The Center has been holding one-on-one meetings with Cleveland City Council members to discuss its publications and advocacy efforts in Northeast Ohio. Led by Tony Gutowski, public policy development manager, the focus of the meetings has been to educate lawmakers on the work of The Center and to familiarize them with the types of resources available from the association. In addition, these meetings have been an opportunity to inform lawmakers of the recently published Cuyahoga County health needs assessment and childhood obesity issue brief.
Meetings with Cleveland City Council members began in July and are likely to continue into the month of August. Through this process, The Center hopes to enhance local leaders’ engagement in the Northeast Ohio healthcare community and to continue strengthening its relationships with these leaders so that they use The Center as a resource when healthcare issues arise.
