ACEMAPP Annual Reports Provide Users with Clinical Placement Data

ACE-MAPP annual reportsACEMAPP annual reports, generated by The Center for Health Affairs and its workforce initiative NEONI, were distributed to hospitals and nursing education programs earlier this month. Each annual report summarized each organization’s ACEMAPP clinical placement data for the 2011-2012 academic year.

Through its Ohio license, NEONI is able to provide ACEMAPP exclusively to hospitals and schools of nursing throughout Ohio. ACEMAPP streamlines and integrates the complex process of clinical education management for users with an online clinical matching and placement program and an e-learning and certification function. According to the ACEMAPP annual reports, overall, 23 hospitals and 27 nursing education programs used ACEMAPP to place 10,381 students in 1,522 clinical rotations in the 2011-2012 academic year.

Earlier this year, The Center for Health Affairs commissioned Cypress Research Group to conduct an objective assessment of ACEMAPP, as well as its Passport function, an e-learning and certification management function that provides education and clinical partners with an integrated and efficient solution to meet the student onboarding requirements of clinical facilities. The purpose of the assessment was to understand the value of utilizing an integrated software tool rather than facilities utilizing separate systems.

Overall, the clinical coordinators and nursing school coordinators who participated felt ACEMAPP saves them a significant amount of time, reduces the workload to arrange placements by a .5 FTE, allows hospitals to accommodate more students, simplifies student compliance requirements, reduces paperwork and streamlines the overall process. Each participant viewed the increased accuracy, increased efficiency and decreased ‘headaches’ as well worth the cost of the system.
