Back to all News ReleasesJanuary 10, 2014 (Cleveland, Ohio)Ryan Quoted in Crain’s on Cost-Cutting Measures in Healthcare

On Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, The Center for Health Affairs' President and CEO Bill Ryan was quoted in a Crain's Cleveland Business piece in which some of the region’s leaders were asked to weigh in on what might take place over the next 12 months. In the piece, "2014 Predictions," Ryan commented on cost-cutting measures in healthcare, predicting healthcare systems will continue to make cuts due to a number of factors.
“While you’re going to need to cut costs, you can’t cut costs the patient will notice,” Ryan said when asked about cost-cutting measures in healthcare. “It’s not like we’re going to increase the number of patients a nurse has to manage to solve our problem. They’re going to have to figure out where the costs are that patients won’t notice."
