The Center Provides Support for Marketplace Enrollment Efforts

Carmella RoseWith open enrollment on the Marketplace quickly nearing its March 31 deadline, The Center for Health Affairs recently provided support to the Carmella Rose Health Foundation to promote public awareness about the importance of Marketplace enrollment. The Carmella Rose Health Foundation is one of several service agencies providing insurance navigation services in the Greater Cleveland area and is housed within The Center for Health Affairs office building, which promotes a natural sense of collaboration between the two organizations when issues of shared interest arise.

Throughout this open enrollment period, the Carmella Rose Health Foundation has been working diligently to help residents in Northeast Ohio navigate ACA open enrollment. Navigators from the organization have attended dozens of events to encourage Marketplace enrollment and to provide one-on-one assistance to people who need help signing up for health insurance. During the same period, The Center launched a social media campaign, which included posts on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. Additional attention around the issue was garnered through press releases, Facebook advertising and a series of advertisements in Cleveland Scene Magazine.

So far, just over 80,000 Ohio residents have selected a plan on the Marketplace; that’s roughly 10 percent of the 812,000 residents eligible for Marketplace enrollment. As time winds down, many are hopeful that the combined efforts of the Carmella Rose Health Foundation, The Center for Health Affairs and many other health and human service groups in the region will lead more uninsured to the Marketplace by the March 31 deadline.
