The Center for Health Affairs and its workforce initiative, NEONI, recently generated its ACEMAPP Annual Reports to provide hospital and nursing education program’s customized nursing clinical placement data.
With its online nursing clinical placement and matching program, ACEMAPP streamlines and integrates the complex process of clinical education management for its users. Overall, 23 hospitals and 32 nursing education programs used ACEMAPP’s placement tool to place 10,810 students in 1,513 nursing clinical rotations in the 2012-2013 academic year.
In spring 2013 NEONI completed a pilot to evaluate ACEMAPP’s Passport function, an e-learning and certification management function that provides education and clinical partners with an integrated and efficient solution to meet the student onboarding requirements of clinical facilities. The Passport Pilot Committee’s recommendation was to adopt Passport as the regional onboarding tool. Case Western Reserve University’s Doctor of Nursing Practice program and Lorain County Community College began using Passport in fall 2013. Full implementation in the Cleveland-area is slated for fall 2014.
Based on feedback from NEONI’s clinical and education partners, several improvements have been made to ACEMAPP throughout the 2012-2013 academic year. Some enhancements include:
- An updated website featuring a homepage custom dashboard for clinical sites and schools, as well as an enhanced “Help Desk” tab
- Passport integration
- Customized student requirements
- Five online courses and assessments to educate students to ensure patient safety and appropriate interactions with patients and families
