Back to all News ReleasesMay 08, 2014 (Cleveland, Ohio)The Center for Health Affairs and its Workforce Initiative, NEONI Celebrate National Nurses Week
The Center for Health Affairs and its workforce initiative, NEONI celebrate National Nurses Week May 6 - May 12. The purpose of National Nurses Week is to raise awareness of the important role nurses play in society. This annual celebration of the nursing industry was founded by The American Nurses Association, the only full-service professional organization representing the interests of the nation's 3.1 million registered nurses.
This year’s theme, “Nurses: Leading the Way,” signifies how nurses step forward embracing new technologies, resolving emerging issues and accepting ever-changing roles in their profession every day. Nurses lead the way for their patients, colleagues, organizations, and the healthcare industry as a whole by improving the quality of care and expanding access to care.
The Center for Health Affairs and its workforce initiative, NEONI are joining in the week of festivities by:
- Sending a thank you email to recognize their 200+ members
- Creating posts for Facebook and Twitter
- Featuring NEONI’s nurses in The Center’s internal newsletter
“Nursing is a challenging and rewarding career that takes a keen mind, determination and the desire to make a difference. We are proud to continually work to make a considerable impact on the recruitment of nurses in Northeast Ohio,” said, Lisa Anderson, MSN, RN, vice president of member services, The Center for Health Affairs/NEONI.

About The Center for Health Affairs
As the leading advocate for Northeast Ohio hospitals, The Center for Health Affairs provides members with vital services and resources aimed at enhancing the region’s healthcare community. The Center delivers on this goal by focusing its efforts on areas that benefit from a regional approach: Healthcare Workforce; Emergency Preparedness; Public Policy & Advocacy; Finance & Reimbursement; and Community Initiatives. With a rich history as the Northeast Ohio hospital association, dating back to 1916, The Center serves as the collective voice of hospitals and the source for Northeast Ohio hospital and healthcare information. As leaders, we continuously scan the periphery, looking for opportunities to enhance the region’s workforce, better prepare our hospitals for an emergency, and increase the region’s wage index. And because of our business affiliation with CHAMPS Healthcare, we have the resources to provide a broad level of professional services to our members. The Center, located in downtown Cleveland, is proud to advocate on behalf of 38 acute-care hospitals and two long-term acute-care hospitals in six counties. For more, visit chanet.org.
