Back to all News ReleasesNovember 05, 2014 (Cleveland)Educational Piece Answers Marketplace Open Enrollment Questions
A new educational piece released by the Northeast Ohio Outreach and Enrollment Council aims to shed light on insurance options for Northeast Ohioans just in time for the Marketplace open enrollment period, which begins on Nov. 15. The one-page publication on health insurance options in Ohio is intended for consumers and answers basic questions such as:
- What are the health insurance options in Ohio?
- What are the income limits?
- What will health insurance cover?
- How much does it cost?
“We see consumers every day who need health insurance but don’t know how to obtain it,” explained Ginny Pate, Carmella Rose Health Foundation’s Executive Director and participant in the Outreach and Enrollment Council. “Health insurance can be confusing and we wanted to put together a one-stop message that was clear, concise and understandable to the consumer. Ultimately, our goal was just to make the entire enrollment process easier.”
The Northeast Ohio Outreach and Enrollment Council is a collaboration between hospitals, local health departments and community groups who aim to make the Marketplace open enrollment period understandable and accessible for uninsured residents in the region. The Center for Health Affairs regularly participates in and contributes to the work of this group.
