Bill Ryan Weighs in on Expected Medicaid Expansion Fight

On Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, The Center for Health Affairs' President and CEO Bill Ryan shared thoughts with Crain's Cleveland Business regarding the expected Medicaid expansion fight in Northeast Ohio.

In the piece, "Northeast Ohio hospitals gear up for a fight over Medicaid expansion," author Timothy Magaw says, "Local hospitals say reauthorizing the expansion in next year's state budget negotiations is anything but a sure bet, and they're gearing up for a fight."

Reflecting on the previous Medicaid expansion fight in Ohio, Ryan said, “(There were) all of the horror stories about what was going to go wrong, and all of it has been a non-event."
