Summer Recess an Opportunity for Updates to Legislative Offices

On Friday, Aug. 14, Tony Gutowski, public policy development manager, visited the Statehouse in Columbus to provide updates to legislative offices. On behalf of its hospital members, The Center for Health Affairs visited the Northeast Ohio delegation of lawmakers throughout the day and had conversations with legislative staff about the upcoming fall session, which resumes mid-September.

Though the biennial budget process has wrapped up for the current General Assembly, the visit was an opportunity to take advantage of the typically idle summer break and provide updates to legislative offices on The Center’s work and issues its member hospitals are following. Legislative staff received takeaways such as the 2015 hospital fact sheet as well as information from a recently published hospital price transparency FAQ. In addition, staff had an opportunity to brief The Center on upcoming legislative priorities and proposals.
