Back to all News ReleasesFebruary 18, 2015 (Cleveland)Medicaid Re-enrollment Required to Maintain Coverage
The Center for Health Affairs encourages those who gained health insurance through Ohio’s Medicaid expansion to take action to keep their benefits. Under the law, people who signed up for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act – commonly called Obamacare – must reapply to the program or their coverage will end. The deadline for Medicaid re-enrollment depends on when a person first signed up for coverage but some people may lose coverage as early as Feb. 28 if they do not reapply.
There are several ways to reapply for Medicaid coverage.
1. Reapply online at benefits.ohio.gov.
2. Call 2-1-1 for help or for questions.
3. Visit a County JFS Neighborhood Family Service Center.
The county is working hard to ensure there are enough people to answer any questions that come up and to ensure that Medicaid re-enrollment applications are processed as quickly as possible.
Computer labs with Internet access are available at most city and county libraries and can be used to complete the online application form. In Cuyahoga County, computer labs are also available at the Quincy Place and Old Brooklyn JFS Neighborhood Family Service Centers.
Additional Medicaid re-enrollment information is available by contacting the Carmella Rose Health Foundation at 216.658.6025.
