Back to all News ReleasesFebruary 23, 2015 (Cleveland)Updated Member ROI and Strategic Direction Scorecard Released
The Center for Health Affairs has released updated strategic direction metrics that include a 2015 Member Return on Investment Statement and a Winter 2015 Strategic Direction Scorecard, both of which now reflect data through December 2014. Both pieces were established to track the association’s progress on its strategic direction. The scorecard is updated twice a year while the ROI Statement is typically updated annually; however, significant changes in member value over the second half of 2014 necessitated an unscheduled update to this piece as well.
The Strategic Direction Scorecard includes metrics in four categories, which reflect the organization’s community roles: to inform, to connect and convene, to spur participation and to produce outcomes. Providing value, another role of the association, is captured in the ROI Statement. Qualitative metrics in each of these areas provide a snapshot of The Center’s progress on its 3-year strategic direction, now in its second year. Selected achievements from the scorecard include:
16 media hits in the second half of 2014.
- New contract signed with Greater Dayton Hospital Association to develop Nursing Forecaster tool for the Dayton region.
- 30 meetings in the second half of the year to coordinate The Center’s health needs assessment initiatives.
- 261 Special event off-hours as regional hospital liaison to the emergency management Agency for Ebola response.
- Traffic increase of 13 percent in 2014 to The Center’s health policy issues site, healthpolicyissues.com.
The Strategic Direction Scorecard, which is flexible and allows for reporting on relevant, current activities, also includes a narrative section describing major accomplishments occurring over the previous six months. Additional information about The Center’s activities is available in the monthly Quick Scan newsletter, on the website and through social media.
The updated Return on Investment Statement, which reflects member value for all of 2014, demonstrated a 15.25 member return on dues investment. In other words, for every dollar spent on dues, The Center provides $15.25 in value to its member hospitals. This value, which is higher than the ROI first reported in September 2014, now includes $1 million in investments made toward The Center for Health for Health Affairs Foundation for Health Excellence as well as the dividends provided to all member hospitals at the end of 2014 totaling $1.9 million.
The next update for these pieces is expected in September 2015. For more information on The Center’s Strategic Direction Scorecard or Return on Investment Statement contact Deanna Moore at 216.255.3614 or via email.
