On Friday, March 20, 2015, The Center for Health Affairs' President & CEO Bill Ryan weighed in on the new Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center and other preparations for a growing number of cancer patients in an ideastream® report by Sarah Jane Tribble.
In the piece, "Constructing For Cancer: How Hospitals Are Meeting Increased Demand," Ryan commented on the new Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center and the reasons hospitals would want as many cancer patients as possible. "It’s true that if you can run enough procedures through a facility you’re going to get some economies of scale that will generate margin,” he said. “The other thing you get when you run enough procedures through a facility is a level of expertise that improves the quality of care that the individual gets.”
