With 2016 Marketplace open enrollment now underway, health insurance consumers across the nation again have the opportunity to find an insurance plan or change the one they currently have. Here in Northeast Ohio, hospitals, local social service agencies and Enroll America have planned a series of outreach events to encourage consumers to get covered prior to January 31, 2016, when the third open enrollment period ends.
"Open enrollment is a great opportunity for consumers to shop for a plan that suits their individual health needs," said Tony Gutowski, public policy development manager at The Center for Health Affairs. "As we enter the 2016 Marketplace open enrollment period, it’s important for consumers to know affordable options are out there and premium assistance is available to many. In fact, 8 out of 10 marketplace consumers are eligible for financial help."
There are dozens of opportunities around Northeast Ohio to sign up for coverage or ask questions during the 2016 Marketplace open enrollment period.
