The Center for Health Affairs hosted the third meeting of the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) Roundtable on October 15. The meeting focused on best practices in community health improvement.
Lillian Kuri, program director for arts and urban design, The Cleveland Foundation, provided an overview of the Greater University Circle Initiative’s community health collaboration. Potential areas of focus include infant mortality / maternal health and home health / lead and asthma. Dave Covell, health commissioner, Lorain County General Health District, discussed the Lorain County Community Health Improvement Plan and the process used.
Best practices in community health improvement through collaboration were shared by Britney Ward, director of community health improvement, The Hospital Council of Northwest Ohio. CHNA Roundtable members also discussed population health planning efforts in the state and HIP-Cuyahoga’s draft Coordinated Community Health Assessment and Improvement Process.
