The Cigna Government Services (CGS) Jurisdiction 15 Part A 2016 Provider Outreach and Education (POE) Advisory Committee recently selected Bob Kaliszewski, project manager, Member Services, The Center for Health Affairs, to serve as one of its newest members.
CGS serves as the Medicare administrative contractor for a number of states including Ohio. The POE Advisory Committee works to educate providers about Medicare requirements. Some of its goals include:
- Assisting CGS in the creation, implementation and review of provider education strategies and efforts.
- Providing input and feedback on training topics, provider education materials as well as dates and locations of provider education workshops and events.
- Identifying widespread provider education needs and assisting with developing solutions and sharing information.
Kaliszewski joins the CGS POE Advisory Committee with 43 years of healthcare finance experience, specifically dealing with Medicare issues. He served six years on a national Medicare Technical advisory group. Throughout his career he has also worked with representatives from The Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Medicare administrative contractors as well Medicare provider communities to address reimbursement issues.
“I’m excited for this opportunity because as a member of the CGS POE Advisory Committee I can deliver our memberships’ concerns directly to the committee and provide our membership assurance that their concerns will be brought up at Committee meetings,” said Kaliszewski. “I anticipate receiving a large amount of input from our Reimbursement Forum membership.”
