Bill Ryan Comments on UH Anniversary

Crain's LogoOn Saturday, May 14, The Center for Health Affairs’ President and CEO Bill Ryan was quoted in a Crain’s Cleveland article on the upcoming 150th anniversary of University Hospitals (UH).

In the UH anniversary piece, “University Hospitals at 150: Growth, donations keep UH healthier than ever,” Ryan commented on the health system and it evolution since the early 2000s when Tom Zenty began his tenure as UH president and CEO. “UH, when I first got here, was primarily an academic medical center focused at University Circle,” said Ryan. “They had some affiliation relationships, smaller community hospitals, particularly in the more rural counties, Geauga and Ashtabula, but they were really focused on that main campus. ... Over time, I think part of what Tom saw was the need to have a way to access patients, serve patients across the whole of the region.”
