On the Road to… University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center

The Center for Health Affairs’ director of community outreach, Kirstin Craciun, co-presented population health planning information to the University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center management team on April 18. Presenting information alongside Craciun were Danielle Price, University Hospitals’ director of community health engagement, and Bobbi Rude, community outreach nurse for University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center.

Craciun’s presentation at University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center involved informing management staff about the federal regulations that require hospitals to conduct community health needs assessments (CHNAs) and recent state-level population health planning requirements that will affect how CHNAs are conducted at the local level. Price described how University Hospitals approaches CHNAs and Rude suggested ways that staff at University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center can support the hospital’s community outreach work.

“Having the opportunity to spread the message about ‘why’ we do CHNAs and community outreach to a broader audience of leaders at University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center, including the golden opportunity that exists to truly make a difference in our communities, was a welcome experience and one that we hope to replicate at other hospitals throughout Northeast Ohio,” explained Craciun.
