Opioid Consortium Makes List of Top 10 Health Care Stories of 2017



Crain's Quote Jarm on Proposed Cuts to MedicaidOn Tuesday, Dec. 19, Crain’s Cleveland released its list of the top 10 healthcare stories of 2017. Number five on the list was the creative ways Northeast Ohio has found to address the opioid crisis.

As part of the write-up, the Northeast Ohio Hospital Opioid Consortium was featured.

Cleveland-area hospitals formed the Northeast Ohio Hospital Opioid Consortium to tackle the epidemic. It includes Cleveland Clinic, MetroHealth, St. Vincent Charity Medical Center, University Hospitals and Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center.

The Consortium's executive director, Allisyn Leppla, is housed at The Center for Health Affairs, a nonprofit advocate for Northeast Ohio hospitals.
