Back to all News ReleasesMay 24, 2017 (Cleveland)Hospitals Come Together to Fight Opioid Crisis in Cuyahoga County
On Friday, May 19, The Center for Health Affairs announced a partnership with Northeast Ohio hospital members Cleveland Clinic, Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center, University Hospitals, MetroHealth and St. Vincent’s Charity Medical Center to combat the opioid crisis in the region. Together, the group announced that the newly created Northeast Ohio Hospital Opioid Consortium would be hiring an executive director to lead its efforts.
The Opioid Consortium, which will be housed at The Center’s downtown location, will coordinate hospital efforts around opioid addiction and treatment in the community. The executive director will be tasked with providing strategic leadership to the Opioid Consortium by working with the board of directors and the executive management team at The Center to establish long-range goals, strategies and policies to address the opioid crisis.
