Jarm Weighs in on the Impact of Medicaid Cuts



Crain's LogoOn Sunday, March 19, Crain’s Cleveland published an article discussing how Medicaid cuts would impact the region’s workforce, services and programs. The Center for Health Affairs’ President & CEO, Tim Jarm, explained how reduced reimbursement would affect hospitals.

When faced with reduced reimbursement, there are three basic levers in the state to decrease costs: cover fewer people, cover fewer services or pay less for services, said Tim Jarm, president and CEO of the Center for Health Affairs. Hospitals understand the significant budget issues facing the nation, and want to sit at the table and be part of the solution, Jarm said, but that solution cannot be through making cuts "on the back of the providers."
