The Center for Health Affairs held its first annual meeting in over a decade on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at the Union Club in downtown Cleveland. Attendees included members of The Center for Health Affairs' board, hospital executives and community leaders.
“Ensuring we connected with members through The Center’s 2017 annual meeting was one of my first goals when I became CEO. I felt bringing the annual meeting back was a really important step in engaging our key stakeholders,” explained Tim Jarm, president & CEO of The Center for Health Affairs and CHAMPS Healthcare.
The Center’s 2017 annual meeting included a cocktail hour and seated dinner during which presenters covered a variety of agenda items, including:
- An overview of the association’s updated mission, vision and values
- The unveiling of The Center’s 2017-2020 Strategic Direction
- An update on the newly-launched Northeast Ohio Hospital Opioid Consortium
- Justin Herdman, U.S. Attorney, Northern District of Ohio
- Dr. Joan Papp, medical director, Office of Opioid Safety & Project DAWN, MetroHealth Medical Center
- Allisyn Leppla, executive director, Northeast Ohio Hospital Consortium on Opioid Addiction
The meeting was preceded by a special, CEO-only meeting, during which Jarm provided similar updates to this smaller audience.
“We want to start bringing together the system CEOs twice a year: once in October to provide an update on the association and how we’re doing on behalf of our members and once in April to gather feedback from members before heading to D.C. for the American Hospital Association annual meeting," said Jarm.
