Team from The Center Volunteers at Greater Cleveland Food Bank

Team from The Center Volunteers at Cleveland Food BankOn Tuesday, Sept. 19, a team of 14 volunteers from The Center for Health Affairs’ leadership team took an afternoon off to volunteer together at the Greater Cleveland Food Bank. The team, which included President and CEO Tim Jarm, COO Phil Mazanec and Chief of Staff Laura Gronowski, sorted perishable food to be distributed to local food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters.

Jarm planned the excursion for his leadership team after attending a Greater Cleveland Food Bank event earlier in the month that highlighted the organization’s strategic direction.

“When I heard the Greater Cleveland Food Bank provided 53 million meals last year, I was really impressed. I thought volunteering would be a wonderful way to support this valuable community organization while also providing an opportunity for some team building,” said Jarm.

The Center’s volunteers were joined by volunteers from a number of other organizations in Northeast Ohio including a group from Fairview Hospital. “We didn’t plan it, but it was great that we ended up working side-by-side with some of the folks from our membership,” said Jarm.
