Waite Quoted in Crain's Piece on Diversity in Nursing

On Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, The Center for Health Affairs' Director, Healthcare Workforce, NEONI and Behavioral Health Initiatives Pam Waite, MSN, RN-BC, MHSA was quoted in a Crain's Cleveland Business piece on diversity in nursing and enriching the workforce. Waite is just one of several leaders who outlines ways the industry is coalescing a workforce that best serves and represents the community in the piece, "Enriching the Workforce."

“We are encouraged because the numbers are changing,” Waite said. “There is more diversity in the younger nurses when you look at the breakdown of nurses by age. In the category of nurses who have 41-plus years’ experience, there are only .1% who are Hispanic or Latino. That number increases to 1.6% when you look at nurses with 0 to 10 years’ experience.”

Waite also highlights data from The Center's Nursing Forecaster which predicts future nursing workforce needs.
