Collaboration with Cleveland Clinic on Financial Leadership Program Presentation

ClevelandClinicA team from The Center for Health Affairs collaborated with staff from the Cleveland Clinic on a Financial Leadership Program presentation given on Jan. 24 at the Lerner Research Institute.

The Center's Interim President & CEO Phil Mazanec, Vice President of Corporate Communications Deanna Moore and Director of Community Outreach Kirstin Craciun, co-presented with Cleveland Clinic’s Executive Director of Taxation and Compliance Bob Waitkus and Director of Community Benefit Elizabeth Fiordalis. Community benefit expertise and analyses conducted by The Center’s George Jeney and Bob Kaliszewski, Project Managers in Finance and Reimbursement, were central to the presentation’s content.

The nearly two-hour Financial Leadership Program presentation allowed The Center to share an overview of key programs and describe how Northeast Ohio hospitals are making an impact on the community through needs assessments, reporting and planning. Waitkus and Fiordalis provided insight into how Cleveland Clinic approaches needs assessments and planning, community benefit statistics and examples of community benefit programs. An interactive component allowed audience members to respond to live polls throughout the presentation.

"This Financial Leadership Program presentation allowed us to highlight a lot of the great work happening in Northeast Ohio and at the Cleveland Clinic to improve the health of the community,” said Craciun.
