The Center looks forward to continuing to deliver valuable results to the membership in 2019 in these core programs, including the following:
- The launch of the Northeast Ohio Hospital Opioid Consortium’s nurse education program as well as work related to access to nasal naloxone and patient risk assessment.
- The completion of a hospital and public health collaborative community health needs assessment and the creation of a community health data warehouse to support these assessment and planning activities.
- Successful completion of the fiscal year 2020 Medicare wage index project, which brings millions more in reimbursement to the region’s hospitals each year than they otherwise would receive, as well as the commencement of the 2021 project.
- Critical, federally funded emergency response planning activities that ensure hospitals are ready to respond to a disaster, including a patient surge exercise and preparation for the 2019 Major League Baseball All-Star Game in Cleveland in July.
- The collection, review and reporting of high-quality data through the hospital Volume Statistics program that allows participating organizations to have a clear view of their own facilities’ experiences in the context of the regional healthcare environment.
