Anderson Weighs in on Medical Consumer Protection Act

On Friday, June 7, 2019, The Center for Health Affairs' Senior Vice President Lisa Anderson was interviewed for an ideastream® piece on the proposed "Medical Consumer Protection Act" which would give Ohio employees the right to sue if forced to have flu shots or other vaccines.

The Medical Consumer Protection Act proposal is too broad and could create safety issues for patients and medical staff, according to The Center.

"They are caring for ill patients," said Anderson. "The risk of transmission of the illness to a patient or back to the direct care provider is much higher than it is in ordinary employer organizations."
