The HealthComp Foundation announces grants totaling $207,000 are being awarded to eight nonprofit organizations working to advance health equity for Northeast Ohioans.
Organizations and projects selected for funding in late 2019 were as follows:
- Better Health Partnership - $25,000 to establish a Pathways Community HUB to coordinate care and resources for high-need, at-risk individuals in Cuyahoga County in 2020.
- Birthing Beautiful Communities - $25,000 to reduce infant mortality through perinatal support specialists.
- ideastream - $30,000 for Be Well health programming.
- Linking Employment, Abilities and Potential (LEAP) - $35,000 for employment services for individuals with disabilities.
- Mental Health & Addiction Advocacy Coalition - $35,000 to strengthen behavioral health care for children and youth.
- Northern Ohioans for Budget Legislation Equality (NOBLE) - $27,000 to increase access to public benefits for low-income individuals.
- Rid-All Foundation - $25,000 for community workshops on food preparation.
- Union Miles Development Corporation - $25,000 to increase greenspace in the Union Miles neighborhood.
“We are grateful for the impactful work in the community being done by each of these organizations to ensure all Northeast Ohioans have the opportunity to lead their healthiest lives,” said HealthComp Foundation Board Chair Heidi Gullett, M.D. “We are pleased to be able to support their work.”
