FEMA Public Assistance Program Can Reimburse Certain Hospital COVID-19 Costs

FEMA-Public-Assistance-ProgramHospitals may be eligible for reimbursement of some of their costs associated with COVID-19 under the FEMA Public Assistance Program. This program under the Federal Emergency Management Agency is open to governmental entities and certain nonprofit organizations for specific types of expenses not covered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The Center for Health Affairs’ partner Hagerty Consulting, which assists hospitals in securing federal funding, has developed a webinar on this and other programs that provide an opportunity for hospitals to better recover from the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. These programs are complex and often lack clarity, especially in unprecedented events such as COVID-19. Proactive, strategic, and expert management of eligible activities, costs, and documentation requirements will promote successful long-term financial recovery. This webinar will provide:
  • An overview and best practices for the FEMA Public Assistance Program.
  • Information about how to register for the program.
Additional details about the FEMA Public Assistance Program as well as eligible expenses can be found here. Eligible nonprofits are encouraged to complete the Request for Public Assistance (RPA) form and Private Non-Profit (PNP) questionnaire and submit the documents to emarecovery@dps.ohio.gov
