Patricia Terstenyak Named Director of Community Health at The Center

The Center for Health Affairs is pleased to announce that Patricia Terstenyak, MPH, has been named director of community health.

Terstenyak joined The Center’s staff in April 2019 as community health improvement manager to work with the Cuyahoga County Board of Health on a grant-funded initiative create and launch Healthy Northeast Ohio. HealthyNEO is a repository of population health data, evidence-based practices, and information about regional health resources and activities that seeks to inform community health work across the region.

As director of community health, Terstenyak will continue to oversee the HealthyNEO project as well as lead the overall community health work for the organization. This will include the collaborative community health needs assessments and implementation plans involving Cuyahoga County hospitals and public health. The most recent joint CHNA was released in 2019 and work is already beginning to plan for the next one, which will be released in 2022.

Terstenyak brings over 15 years of public health experience to The Center, with a focus on health disparities, health equity, and community health. She has worked at the YMCA of Greater Cleveland, Susan G. Komen for the Cure Northeast Ohio, and St. Vincent Charity Medical Center, and has served as an adjunct instructor at Cleveland State University and a research scholar at the Case Center for Reducing Health Disparities.
