Online Opioid Education Courses Open to Ohio Nurses

online-opioid-educationThe Northeast Ohio Hospital Opioid Consortium, the multi-member hospital partnership responsible for coordinating regional activities aimed at stemming Northeast Ohio’s opioid epidemic, is excited to offer flexible online opioid education courses designed to support Ohio’s hospital nurses who are caring for patients with opioid use disorder.

Through the four-module education courses, users learn tactics and techniques to improve screening, interventions and care coordination services to those in need of specialized addiction treatment. These modules are approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing and can be completed for continuing education credits (four modules = four CEs).

The Opioid Consortium staff crafted the content with ease of access in mind. Individuals can take the courses from the comfort of home or while at work – access isn’t limited by time, date or location. These self-directed courses, developed in conjunction with healthcare professionals from Opioid Consortium membership, have a 90% satisfaction rating and over 88% of last year’s participants surveyed said they feel more prepared to care for SUD/OUD patients after taking the courses.
