The
Northeast Ohio Hospital Opioid Consortium, the multi-member hospital partnership responsible for coordinating regional activities aimed at stemming Northeast Ohio’s opioid epidemic, offers a
flexible online opioid education program for Ohio’s hospital nurses. These courses are designed for nurses who are caring for and directly working with patients with opioid use disorder.
Through the four-module education program, users learn tactics and techniques to improve screening, interventions and care coordination services to those in need of specialized addiction treatment. Approved by the Ohio Board of Nurses, these modules can be completed for a continuing education credit (four modules = four CEs). Additionally, over 88% of last year’s participants surveyed said they feel more prepared to care for SUD/OUD patients after taking the courses.
