The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has released a request for information (RFI) seeking public input on a variety of topics, which include access to care, provider experiences, advancing health equity, and the impact of the waivers and flexibilities provided under the COVID-19 public health emergency.
Through the Make Your Voice Heard: Promoting Efficiency and Equity Within CMS Programs RFI, CMS is seeking to better understand individual and community-level burdens, health-related social needs and opportunities for improvement that can reduce disparities and promote efficiency and innovation. They are also interested in hearing about the factors impacting provider wellness and the impact of CMS policies on provider experiences.
Through the RFI, CMS hopes to learn how specific programs have benefited providers, practices and patients. Comments received in response to the RFI will be used to identify opportunities for improvement and to increase efficiencies across the agency’s programs.
CMS encourages comments from all interested stakeholders, including patients and their families, providers, clinicians, consumer advocates and healthcare professional associations. They also encourage comments from individuals serving and located in underserved communities or facing disparities in health and healthcare.
Comments are being accepted until Nov. 4 through an online submission process. For additional detail on CMS’ areas of interest under this RFI and to submit comments, go to:
