Healthy Northeast Ohio Collaborates with Early Ages Healthy Stages Coalition on New Data Dashboard

This spring, Healthy Northeast Ohio worked with the Early Ages Healthy Stages Coalition to create a customized data dashboard featuring early childhood data. The latest Healthy NEO success story features this initiative and highlights how Healthy Northeast Ohio can partner with organizations to add new data sources and create customized dashboards on the platform.

The Early Ages Healthy Stages Coalition is a multi-sector collaborative whose mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of children ages 0 to 5 in Cuyahoga County through childcare environments and community collaborations. As part of their strategic planning, they recognized the need for early childhood data in order to make data-driven decisions and show the impact of their work.

The Coalition teamed up with Better Health Partnership to receive data to pair with the data they had been collecting as part of Ohio Healthy Programs. The Coalition wanted to make this information available not only to members of the collaborative, but to the whole community.

Healthy Northeast Ohio partnered with the Coalition to create an early childhood health and wellbeing dashboard on www.healthyneo.org. Data can be added to Healthy NEO as long as it meets certain criteria. The dashboard includes data on young children affected by asthma, hypertension, and overweight or obesity, as well as the numbers of children and families served by Ohio Healthy Programs.

The Healthy Northeast Ohio team also created a Mapped Resource Collection to show the locations of the currently designated Ohio Healthy Program sites in Cuyahoga County. The flags in this map were color coded to designate the site types, including center-based programs, family childcare providers, and school-based programs. The map is included in the new early childhood dashboard.
