The Center Welcomes New Member and Community Programming Staff

The Center for Health Affairs this month welcomed two new members of its member and community programming team. As senior director of engagement and programs, Jodi Mitchell will oversee the organization’s nonprofit programs and services, including community health, emergency preparedness, finance and reimbursement, and opioid and polysubstance use. Also joining the organization is Christina Fozio, program manager for emergency preparedness, who will manage regional preparedness activities of the Northeast Ohio Healthcare Coalition and the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) grant.

With over 25 years of healthcare policy and advocacy experience on the federal, state and local levels, Mitchell joins The Center for Health Affairs to lead partnerships with member hospitals, community collaborators, and local officials to ensure programming aligns with The Center’s mission and community needs. Mitchell previously served as a health equity specialist for Aetna, A CVS Health Company. Prior to that role, she was a consultant to businesses, employers, and community organizations providing planning, strategy and project management in health policy, community health and business development. Prior to starting her own consulting business, Mitchell served as a health policy program officer for the Mt. Sinai Health Foundation in Cleveland, OH.

Fozio is an emergency management professional with nearly 24 years of experience in the public sector. She previously served as director of the Medina County Emergency Management Agency. She holds an Associate of Applied Science in Emergency Planning and Administration, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Lakeland Community College, and an Associate of Applied Business in Commercial Art from Cuyahoga Community College. She is well versed in all aspects of emergency management as well as grant writing and grant management. Christina is a collaborator and understands the importance of stakeholder relationships. She has managed a variety of grants and projects and has coordinated several gubernatorial and federal disaster declarations

“As The Center closes out 2023 and looks ahead to its strategic goals for 2024, the organization is well positioned for success with the addition of Jodi and Christina to the team,” said Mario Franco, executive vice president and chief operating officer at The Center for Health Affairs and CHAMPS. “They have already begun connecting with members and partners in the community and we are looking forward to building on a strong 2023 in the new year.”
