Back to all News ReleasesFebruary 08, 2023 (Cleveland, OH)Statement from President & CEO Brian Lane on President Joe Biden’s State of the Union
On Tuesday evening, we as a nation had the opportunity to view President Joe Biden’s address to Congress and the country, in which he spoke about accomplishments and set an agenda for the remainder of the year.
As expected, healthcare issues were among the highlights. From controlling prescription drug prices and advancing cancer care and treatment to protecting Medicare and expanding Medicaid, we at The Center for Health Affairs find much common ground with the President’s agenda.
Here in our region, substance use disorders and overdose prevention, along with expanded access to mental healthcare – also among the initiatives highlighted by the President – are priorities as well. And we commend his endeavors to address the gun violence plaguing our nation.
We will do our part to connect with and support the Congressional delegation representing Northeast Ohio hospitals and communities as they work with each other across the aisle and with the Administration to implement real solutions.
