The Center for Health Affairs is pleased to announce a new board chair and vice chair and welcome new directors to its Board. Drawn from hospital and community organizations in the Northeast Ohio region, these individuals will support the organization’s mission of bringing together partners through innovation to positively impact the community it serves.
The Center’s Board of Directors approved the recommendation of the Governance Committee to appoint Jill Dietrich Mellon, JD, MBA, FACHE, as the new chair of The Center for Health Affairs Board of Directors. Dietrich Mellon, executive director/CEO of Veterans Affairs Northeast Ohio Healthcare System, who had been serving on the board as a vice chair, begins a two-year term as chair.
“Accepting the role as the new chair of The Center for Health Affairs Board of Directors is an honor,” said Dietrich Mellon. “I’m eager to get to work and generate impactful change that focuses on the mission of The Center to improve the well-being of our community.”
The Center is also pleased to welcome Mark Malloy, MBA, chief financial officer of Ohio Regional Hospitals at the Cleveland Clinic, as a new vice chair of the board, and Derrick Hollings, CPA, executive vice president, chief financial officer, and treasurer of The MetroHealth System as a director.
Bill Chorba, CFO, VP of finance of CBIZ Benefits & Insurance Services, has been appointed to serve on The Center’s board as its treasurer. He previously served on the Community Health Affairs Board of Directors as treasurer.

The Center’s Board aims to serve communities as a catalyst by aligning and collaborating with members and constituents to incubate, pilot, and launch programs and services that benefit the healthcare community.
About the Directors:
Jill Dietrich Mellon, JD, MBA, FACHE, executive director/CEO of VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System, provides high quality patient-centered care to over 135,000 veterans at 17 locations spanning 21 counties in Northeast Ohio. Previously she has served in progressively higher leadership roles throughout the Veterans Health Administration. Dietrich Mellon is a graduate of the Presidential Management Fellow program, Leadership VA, and the Harvard University Senior Executive Fellows Program. She was recently recognized by Crain’s Cleveland Business as one of the 2023 Women of Note.
Mark Malloy, MBA, chief financial officer, Ohio Regional Hospitals at the Cleveland Clinic, is responsible for the financial operations of the Cleveland Clinic Ohio Regional Hospitals and Family Health Centers as well as Cleveland Clinic Community Care. He served as executive director of the corporate financial planning department, where he led long range financial forecasting and budgeting. Malloy earned his bachelor’s degree in administration from Baldwin Wallace College and his master’s degree from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University.
Derrick Hollings, CPA, executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer at The MetroHealth System, is responsible for optimizing performance and achieving financial and strategic goals while overseeing all aspects of financial and business management. Hollings brings more than 25 years of business savvy experience and financial leadership in academic and large complex hospital organizations, most recently at Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He earned his bachelor's degree from the Collat School of Business at the University of Alabama Birmingham.
Bill Chorba, CFO and VP of finance of CBIZ Benefits & Insurance (B&I) Services, is responsible for financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, analysis, reporting, and internal controls. He serves as a business partner to each of the six B&I unit presidents and a key advisor and thought partner to the division president. Previously, Chorba was the CFO and treasurer of Cleveland Metroparks and was responsible for all park district financial affairs. Preceding his time at Cleveland Metroparks, he was the CFO of NineSigma, an international innovation and technology services firm, CFO of an employee benefits/payroll/HR administration company, vice president at an internation risk management firm, and manager at a national CPA firm.
